Basically what is happening is that holders of large positions are simply sitting on their shares. Remember - the major shareholders (such as Petrus fund) have extremely incestuous relationships with the company - as does its primary MM - McGarr Capital.

Mcgarr has been actively engaged in churning small blocks of stock and marking up the bid in the hopes of bringing in short sellers. They are trying to create an artificial market to dump more insider stock on the backs of shorts. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that a stock with 13,000,000 shares outstanding does not go up 5 points on 400,000 shares traded without some hanky-panky. This strategy can only go so long before it backfires.

DON'T GET SCARED OUT!

Be patient. Zonagen is a fraud, and nothing more than a stock-touting operation.

ZONA:

I would like to add to Bill's post that there have been no shares available through my brokerage for a matter of weeks. I am of the opinion if/when I ever do get some shares to short it will be the death knell.

Watch your margin, it may take a while for this one to cool off, but nothing has fundamentally changed. Remember, it is some 25% more of a scam at $22 than it was at $18. Now if you do want to cover, I'd appreciate it because then I may be able to get your shares;^).
