"Science should be an ongoing open minded search for objective reality"

It is.

"Facts are facts, however unpleasant they can be at times."
Here are some scientific facts:

In the 1820's Fourier showed that the atmosphere kept us warmer than the planet would be without one. That was called the Greenhouse Effect, and his work has not been disproven.

In the 1850's and '60's, Foote and Tyndall showed that CO2 and H2O specifically retained heat, and their work has not been disproven.

In the 1890's, Arrehenius calculated how much we would warm if CO2 doubled. His work has not been disproven, and more recent studies confirm that his predictions of a increase of 1.5-5.0 degrees C, IIRC, remains valid. We are currently approaching 1.5 degrees. CO2 has gone from 280 ppm to 419. The exact amount of increase won't be settled until we hit 560 ppm.

We know the increase in atmospheric CO2 is from our use of fossil carbon because of isotopic studies, which haven't been disproven.

We know the increase is not due to an increase in solar activity, cuz we measure that, and the measurements haven't been disproven.

"Dogma is not science ", but's all the deniers have, so they throw it out there to muddy the waters, in an effort to hide the results of their own scientific studies..
