Gold & the February High? (PRO)
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2023 BY: MARTIN ARMSTRONG

Gold dropped sharply making an outside reversal to the downside for the close of the last week of January/first week of February. The spin doctors are claiming that the key reason for the crash was that the preferred inflation index used by the Federal Reserve was at 4.7% year-over-year in November and declined to 4.4% year-over-year last month. As I have said many times, the former used-car salesmen that now sell gold have brainwashed the public into thinking that gold rising with inflation. Therefore, if inflation declines, it's time to sell.

Our Monthly Array has shown that we should have a high right here and an ideal decline into April, where our geopolitical models are targeting. It is possible that Ukraine can collapse for there are a number of people who would now love to assassinate Zelensky for destroying their society. The word from Kyiv is that his ego is so wrapped up in this image of a world hero, that he would sacrifice his own people rather than compromise which would alter his personal global image.

Keep in mind that 2022 scored a new intraday high barely. That made it a 21 years rally from the 2001 lowest yearly closing. This would typically suggest a 2 years correction into 2024 or 3 years into early 2025 where we have high volatility and a Directions Change lining up with the war cycle. If Ukraine collapses here in April/May, then perhaps everything will subside. The US Military has been screaming at the White House, according to our sources, that they do NOT want to fight Russia in Ukraine. Biden has handed Zelensky so many weapons, there are now severe shortages in the US stockpile.

So far, gold has not broken out to the upside on our model. It appears that this is a reactionary rally - a bounce. On a monthly closing basis, it was a 2-month reaction on a closing basis. So nothing to get all excited about.
