Kind of funny in light of the recent discussion about mo mo vs investing. I just finished listening to a podcast podcasts.apple.com About 40 minutes in, they point out that in the VC biz, there are two groups of people that take startups public. One group has no FA background, no banking experience etc. They are very good at hyping IPOs and ramping them higher and higher but NONE of them have EVER produced a profitable and viable return for investors. The other group had banking experience, used fundamentals and created real lasting companies that were good investments and created shareholder value.
