Your speculation has merit. With the site being near the tradition, you can bet that players would jump at a shot to play two rounds Mon-Tues and pick up a check. There has been a Sr.Mon-Tues event held in Maryland the past two years at a course called Cattail Creek, no TV, but some name players stopped by to vie for a check. Chi Chi, Hale, and Dave Stockton ring a bell. I have been unsuccessful in finding info on this MD. tourney via a couple golf sites, but living in the area, trust me it took place.
