It's Google Search Images


If you save a a piece of Sanskrit (for example)



as a picture, say using "screen save" then using "MS Paint" to or whatever to crop the bit of picture as needed. (the example above is a ,jpeg)

You can pull it into Google Search Images and it can attempt a translate.







then you get the translate option





Your Chinese characters did come up as "Taiwan Chinese".

After getting the translation in words, it can be read back using the normal Google translator to check it's right.

It assumes Google interprets correctly of course, but is looks exacting. Sanskrit does new financial terms by the look of things.
