Interesting about Capital Group. I was just thinking about the similarity between the squeeze here and the final squeezes on MU and ASND. Both of those stocks attracted a lot of permabulls AND short interest and someone savvy engineered a terrific squeeze in each to sell into at a nice top. I remember SI threads that weren't all that different in character from this one. Also interesting the ASND final squeeze was at the end of January '97, close to the calendar timing on this one.

It may be some consolation to the shorts to review the charts of what happened after the final rocket shots in MU and ASND. Anyway, you can count on stocks like these to have the most extreme volatility, because of the emotionally invested blind spots affecting both longs and shorts (excess greed and hubris > good targets for predators!) When irrational positions exist on both sides, watch out!
