It's totally absurd, still, as the article does... to proclaim that fighting the "civil war" that's ongoing... is "a provocation" being imposed on a external party who is (smirk/sarcasm) a non-participant... and (if you ignore that stupidity) it therefore makes THEM responsible for Putin's decision "with no other choice left him" but to do what he did following that prior history... "forcing" him to intervene in that war by crossing the border ? LOL !!! His side was losing the war... but, the relevant point in parsing the logic of the argument presented isn't who was winning or losing... but the fact that Putin HAD a side in a conflict in a country other than his own ? It's ridiculous logic... this, therefore that... an obvious fallacy in causation... When you see someone present that sort of an extreme in a flawed version of logic... you know they're lying to you... and lying for an obvious reason. It's in many of the lists of the "top ten" of fallacious arguments usually used to distract the ignorant... What Is the Causal Fallacy? Definition and Examples 15 False Cause Fallacy Examples (Correlation not Causation!) 9 Fallacy of Causation Examples in Media, Real Life, Politics, News and Ads. But, also obviously... you should be fully prepared to expect it... because... what's the first casualty in war ? Reality is always complex enough... that you should always be suspicious when someone offers you simple answers... clearly intended to distract you from concern over any of those complexities. Also should note... the schools today... are deliberately gutting instruction in logic and debate... as "an anachronism of white / western cultural imperialism"... ie., they want you to be stupid... so that you are easier to dupe and manipulate... But, older textbooks out there, a few pretty good... and the web is an easy enough resource to use in gaining a basic understanding of logic... and not bad in presenting enough re "fallacy" to enable basic self education.
