BC, Little by little they are winning This is not news. Bakhmut has been a focal point for RuZZia for many months now. Its significance is more political than strategic. The fact that RuZZia is overwhelming the Ukrainian defenders here only underscores the fact that Zelensky is no miracle worker, and that he remains dependent on NATO assistance. Yet Zelensky chooses to continue defending Bakhmut because RuZZia wastes an enormous amount of time, lives, and resources here. He's already planning a withdrawal from the city and will give the order the moment he feels encirclement is imminent. Like I said before, RuZZia trades lives for land, and Ukraine trades land for time. And make no mistake, time is not on RuZZia's side.
