CO2 makes atmospheric temperatures increase, and that in turn makes ocean temperatures go up. Temperature increases provide more energy for storms, 7% more water in the air per degree C, and cause ocean levels to rise because of both thermal expansion and melting land ice, causing higher storm surges.
