Adds

"which came as India announced the next round of UK trade talks"... suggesting additional reasons in potential political motivations for "someone" offering to back the duo in hatchet jobs... one by the BBC, and one by...

And,

the BBC “the most corrupt corporation in the world.”

It does appear we're long past the point where we can pretend that "media companies" are the good guys, only seeking to reveal truth... while trusting in "freedom of the press" to protect them from... using their media credentials in prosecuting an agenda that has nothing to do with "the press" much less any "freedoms" being defended by them...

I think "the press" almost doesn't exist any more... as they've been co-opted and replaced by corporate hacks who are far more intent on advancing the corporate agenda... what ever it is... rather than conducting "independent" journalism...

A free press has to be independent... to be free... not the "pay to play" pretenders posing as journalists that we see everywhere today.

The corporate capture of the media by giant corporations... their control of "access" and ability to shut it off... has converted them into the PR / propaganda wings of their owners...

I guess you need to look for $ and other linkages in interest between...

politicians in London,

the BBC,

UK Trade talks,

the opposition in India... and US-based Hindenburg Research... ?

Ah... of course... that makes it quite a lot more obvious... A quick search:

July 2021: How George Soros is fueling a dangerous anti-India narrative through media and ‘civil society’
Besides intellectuals and media networks, George Soros' Open Society Foundations has also funded a large number of organisations in India.

There are plenty of reasons to poke fun at or denigrate the BBC but, calling them the most corrupt corporation in the world is a bit rich.

An old friend of yours sent me this which was funny.
