Wharfie,
Starvation from weather related crop failures, temperature related deaths, storm related deaths, wildfires, and maybe trans-national climate migrants killed during their migrations.
I have always argued that it's better to make up for all of the above with better technology, better economic development, and more geopolitical stabilization, than to try and stop the climate from changing.

In other words, we need to adapt to an ever-changing climate and stop pretending that we are destroying it.

Because the death toll from bad politics (e.g. Sri Lanka, RuZZia, China, Pakistan, etc.) FAR outweigh the death toll from an extra one degree of Celcius.

Yet policies to stop the climate from changing are the very definition of bad politics. (At least policies that go ahead of the available technology at the time.)
