JP, >There is Over 11,000 open interest in sun 50 calls expiring on Feb 20. Does anyone believe this has something to do with the stock price?<

There is a theory that it may. Please go to Ben A's site and
read about it...

Explanation of hypothesis...
pipeline.com

Then look at Ben's latest SUNW options value chart
pipeline.com
Ben may update the chart this weekend - or not.
If you're really interested, why not ask him?

If we believe that the stock price gravitates to a value
that causes "maximum pain", then SUNW should stay around
45 or lower till expiration.

I'm not sure what to believe.

JP, after looking at the options table at... cboe.pcquote.com

I would be surprised if it didn't have something to do with
the stock price. <g>

Regarding open Feb/March $50 Calls, when the stock approached the $50 area, speculators were buying, investors were selling the contract against long positions.
