Continuing the monologue...

The U.S. site appears to be doing very well. There are competing bids on most items, except for housewares, rare books and the energy bars that they are selling in sports. The Canadian site? Two bids on the entire site...any word on the Sympatico deal Bruce? Actually, one opinion I am pondering is that the Canadian site really does not have that competitive pricing. The Acer Extensa 610 notebook has been seen advertised for $2,200 in the newspapers, with the minimum price of $2,349 on ILI's site. Also, the re-writable CD drive is $649, with cheaper prices at Computer City and Future Shop. Perhaps this is one the reasons (besides for no advertising) that there are so few bids.

Seeing what ONSALE has done, ILI needs to develop and establish more partnerships such as the one with AOL in my opinion. ONSALE has partnerships with CBS Sportsline and a couple of other popular sites. Perhaps a deal with TSN in Canada would jumpstart the Canadian site...after all, it is one of the most popular sites in Canada. Z Auction appears to be the site of choice for Lycos... if ILI could get YAHOO or EXCITE, perhaps this would stimulate their American site a bit more. Just a few thoughts...
