the contest goes until 2 weeks prior to earnings. i still expect asnd to win. even if asnd is bought out soon, which i do not expect, the deal will not consumate prior to earnings.

U.S. TRADING SUMMARY: Wall Street stocks were weaker at midday
Friday, but the profit-taking that pulled the market lower at the
open was easing as investors looked forward to a three-day holiday
weekend and the prospect of more gains next week. "We are getting
consolidation as we go up and the market is acting well," said
Jonathan Dodd, technical analyst at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
"The market is going to go higher." At 1:20 p.m. ET the Dow was
off 27 points at 8342. The S&P500 index was down six points at
1018. Market breadth was negative as declines led advances four to
three, with volume at 336 million shares. The Nasdaq was off three
points at 1711. While the Nasdaq, Dow Industrials and the S&P500
were all weaker, the small cap sector was able to eke out modest
gains. The Russell 2000 index was up 0.48 point at 453.
