why wouldn't the street look at the possible aquisition of netscape by AOL as positive. They look at everything else that way.

Hawk, I suppose anything is possible, but unless it is perceived that they bought NSCP "on the cheap" which I highly doubt, (as ORCL, SUNW, and IBM have also been named as suitors) the further earnings dilution of one barely profitable company buying another that is losing money (and has resorted to giving its flagship product away for free) will be even too much for the mighty AOL rally to overcome.

Combine that with headlines just out:

Taiwan Stocks end Sharply lower on.............HK

Hong Kong stocks dives. Index down 4.1%

Tokyo down 2% in early afternoon trading.

And,,,,,,,,market ending 3rd consecutive record setting day, culminating two weeks of a huge run-up, going into Friday before a three day weekend.

AOL - GOING DOWN.
