But what would you think of some puts on MSFT (like yours truly recently bought). Isn't >50x earnings and 18x sales a bit excessive?

...in the short term perhaps.
but with a 2-1 a few days away, NT-5, and Windows 98 in the offing,
not to mention all the software they'll sell in the low-end PCs this year, i think i'd be more inclined towards the Jan. 99 170 calls.
(like yours truly recently bought)
