God, you are one of the worst bellyachers I've ever seen on SI. Why do you bother to post here?

I was thinking about bringing up pasta the other day, on the D. Long thread. First I thought about varieties, wondering how many there were, rice, wheat, flat, curly. Then I thought about recipes, how a spirited discussion might ensue, folks sharing favorites and short anecdotes about a Christmas pasta disaster or whatever. But then I decided not to, figuring that was way too smart ass and not really dignified.

A few days passed and I learned about real estate in remote locations, wells, sceptic tanks, zoning issues, various and sundry stuff about the north western part of the country generally. That was interesting, especially the part about how all our nuclear weapons are stored there, I thought about prevailing winds relative to where I live and decided not to relocate despite having a non-zero risk in that direction.

The conversation turned to pizza....and I wondered if my prescient skills had finally surfaced, although not yet fully developed, ala "The Mentalist" or "Psych"....."I'm getting something, it's not quite clear, the discussion will turn to ........pasta?" Wrong but close, pasta/pizza, Italian P words. I'll work on it.

Anyway....everything changes. I think I'll post this, what the hell.

They can kill me but they can't eat me. A ridiculous statement and not even true, I've no idea where I heard it but it stuck with me for some reason.

Dr. Campbell has a new piece out about masks, I'm sure folks here know how to find him.
