Live near strip malls, downtowns, or large malls and you'll get tent cities. Unless there are people like those who govern Lacey. A lot of local jurisdictions are laying down the law and are stopping this from happening in their communities.

People who permanently "camped" up in our area were rather common in past years, but that has all been stopped by state and federal agencies. I don't know what happened to change their minds, as they always used to look the other way. I think the EPA got involved as the whole area is a major watershed that drains into the Puget Sound, and perhaps they saw how degrading it was to the environment?

The homeless don't want to be out in the boonies, they want services, which is another reason for people to move out of cities into more rural areas if possible.



Inslee is full of it. He's been saying the same thing for years.
