The Greens, like all movements, don't go home after they've won. The world, and this country in particular, is eminently cleaner today than at any time in the last 150 years. Certainly cleaner than when I was a kid. But they keep it up, and kids don't have the perspective and think the world is coming to an end. My wife and I make sure to impress on our daughter how much better the world is today than even 40 years ago to hopefully give her some of that perspective going forward.

There was a time when it was really needed, rivers catching on fire and all that. Now they're regulating mud puddles as navigable waterways, banning clean and efficient gas stoves and heaters, mandating electric cars and trucks (modern ICE engines are virtually pollution free), and to top it off, planning for us to eat bugs for dinner, as cow farts are destroying the planet. Bureaucracies, like the EPA, never shrink. They metastasize unless pulled up by the roots. Looking at our entrenched leviathan of a federal government, there's no chance of that happening..
