RE: rather lazy, unconcerned way the original Zip Patents were initially filed?

cRocky,

You say:

>> My take is that Nomai discs do not violate ANY patent laws, and simply help to point out the rather lazy, unconcerned way the original Zip Patents were initially filed. <<

Have you even read the Zip patents? Do you even know how many there are? Why would the patent office grant the patents if they were filed in a "rather lazy, unconcerned way"?

I once had a coupon for $2 off the game "Clue" that I gave to people like you.

Rocky -

I know you're enjoying yourself this evening, but you don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about with respect to patents. Laziness and sloppiness don't have anything to do with this situation.

By the way, your post seems to suggest that Iomega just filed the patent infringement cases today, which of course is not true.

Please stop trying to teach Reality 101 until you get some kind of grip.

Rocky, glad to see that you are an unbiased "reporter". Time will tell how this plays out.

Has it ever occurred to you that since the Nomai disks are not compatible with the notebook Zip, Iomega could easily alter the other Zip drives to make the Nomai disks incompatible? Because of this, I just don't see how Nomai will have much impact. Even now, the fact that the Nomai disks are not compatible with all Zip drives would be a significant deterrent to consumers, in addition to warnings from Iomega about voiding the warranty of the Zip drive.

This ruling currently should not be viewed as particularly significant, but I expect the market will overreact.
