I like the directional movement indicator too. If you want to find stocks that are in basing out periods at bottoms, look for really really extra low current values for the DI+. Others use DI+ DI- crossovers and use ADX which is average directional movement to identify the strength of the current trend. High ADX means strong current trend and that the next phase will be a consolidation period. Low ADX means strong current consolidation/basing period and that the next phase will be a strong trend. I like to put bollinger bands on ADX and look at it. ADX is a good bottom and top fishing tool. Yes Window on Wall Street includes the directional movement indicators. In addition to the above it also includes the directional movement rating (ADXR). Data is downloaded over telephone lines via modem. You can download over a network as well. You can pick one of about 20 or more different data providers. WoW has simple screens to set up your data provider.
