Re:

<<It's a roll of the dice, as the say.>>

Let me first acknowledge your greater experience.

Are you referring to a call very soon? A quick pivot ala Steph Curry whereby the Fed reverses course and the lower rate precipitates a call.

<< wouldn't be a player because it seems unlikely that any of this 'almost 7%' paper doesn't get called>>

If it doesn't get called as per my example in the 1 year time frame then wouldn't it yield close to the ytm? I reserve the right to be wrong with that.

<<As you know, it is hard to make a case against just sticking to short term tbills for conservative money investments.>>

True dat...but I'm a former pool player/poker player/golf gambler so that adrenalin producing risk(can't believe I'm referring to such a sure thing as 'risky') is attractive.

Re:

The 06048W2A7 looks very attractive as it's noncallable until 10/28/2024 so current yield of 6.669% if held until then..yes?

Also stepped up to 6.50% and 7.50% if held past 10/28/2032. It's Bank of America and rated S&P A- and Moody's A2 so one might put the risk as 'low' even though we know anything can and does happen.

If rates were to rise considerably from here that bond might be underwater until rates come down...yes?

New education here for me so I am enjoying.

Looks to unavailable now but a good dry run for me.
