China has been going out of its way to foster this conflict for a long time. Posturing "wolf warrior" friendliness ? LOL!!! China has been saying they're at war with the U.S. for a long time already... while the US opted to not notice. Now, all of the sudden... China pretends to be concerned by... it being noticed ? Finding no resistance, no reaction... only patient toleration... even as China shifted gears from "peaceful rise" and "integration with the world"... to presuming "inevitable dominance" and a natural right to inherit "control"... or, now, increasingly... intending to take it by force ? And, as the west continued to ignore the nature of the change in China's pose, and tone, China assumed to proceed... "It regards China as its primary rival and the most consequential geopolitical challenge". And, that is exactly what the west fostering China's "miracle" was created to intend, and enable... although in terms of "economic competition"... with the element in "rival" and "geopolitical challenge" being China's own innovation and unilateral amendment to the cooperative "economic" relationship... that has China now deliberately hacking at the root of the "miracle"... reversing "cooperation" and thinking it doesn't matter... The foolishness of those in the west fostering that... while believing that China's rise would be as linear and peaceful as the Soviet Union's dissolution... because China's dictators "played along" while it suited them... without ever intending that adopting "capitalism" would enable any political liberalization... as those in the west foolishly presumed would, as of needs, occur ? China's direction reversed under Xi... expecting the "miracle" was an engine that, with sufficient mass, would go of itself... and intending to "spend" the benefit enabled, even while reversing the enabling trends, using the gains won in fostering power... for himself. "This is like the first button in the shirt being put wrong." Sure. Might want to fix that... misalignment to the "rules based order" being intolerant of divergence ? Or... perhaps mis-states the nature of the fashion choice ? "The recently single China admitted she knew what she was doing when wearing the tulle dress and that the outfit shed a light on how China's policies are constantly scrutinized and up for public consumption". China has failed to comprehend that cooperation / competition, and conflict are... different choices... each of which will create different risks... and alter the set in the possible ? China has also badly misjudged "the inevitable"... wrongly believing that "what is"... entirely in consequence of others choices undertaken in cooperation... persistently prevents others exercising different choices... particularly misjudged, as it turns out, as others become aware... that it isn't choices made in "cooperation" ? The west... have been slow to acknowledge China's aggressive shift in direction, tone... under Xi... have been far too tolerant, far too patient... But, in the west, while they may be patient, or overly slow, in addressing such change... they do understand that choices have consequences... China had a window of opportunity in granted advantages... in which time they might position to enable themselves to compete in the future... And, instead, have entirely pissed that away... so, rather than embracing the opportunity... have decided to reverse course and attack its sources... That's not a choice that is in anyone else's control ? Adapt to the requirements imposed in market demand, where choice does exist... sustain cooperation... and compete... As India has opted to do... Or, don't... and choose conflict, instead ? But, China griping to others about the consequences of the choices they're making... is kinda clueless. Does the outcome of conflict... depend on the outcome in competition ? Does the outcome of conflict... change the outcome in competition ? There's probably some relationship there... that matters ? China using competition as a mask in conducting warfare "below the threshold"... not fooling anyone.
