I read the idtc board every day and have not read a request for idt'c sound quality. IDTC's pc to phone did have an echo on my computer exactly like that which was written about here. Shortly thereafter I bought a net2phone direct card which is a phone to phone system and never did bother with the pc2phone again. Anybody can try idtc's system by calling 1 800 CALL IDT. I am not trying sell anything here, but you can try the system and see for yourself. They will give you a free trial call. There is a slight delay and there is sputter when two people talk, but it is not that bad. If there is not a gateway in your city, then each net call is 13 cents through the 800 number, which is the cheapest calling card around. New York and Chicago are 5 cents a minute to anywhere in the US and the rest of the local gateways are 8 cents a minute. Starting March 1, all calls will be 5 cents a minute.

I still think that IDT is the best ip tel play. You have insurance because the bulk on the business is based on traditional methods of reselling minutes to the major companies. They are part of an alliance that makes up the largest internet provider service, and the are leading the way in ip tel (so far). They have an alliance with orion to use their satellite (soon to be 3 satellites) to attack the Russian, Chinese, and Latin America markets. This will give them greater bandwidth from these areas. Their fiber ownership is increasing and they keep rolling out great news. They now have 200 million in cash and it looks like they will beat estimates after a 4 million share float which raised $95 million a few weeks ago.

I have followed idtc since it went public and I believe that they are the most diverse telecom company in the world and they are very focused. I know that they plan on storming the beaches in Europe soon.

I just do not see where there is money in the production of gateways. I think that this area of ip tel turned into a commodity business in the beginning and the money will be made in the operation and not the sales of the gateways.
