SES Considers Public Offering

Societe Europeenne des Satellites (SES), which owns the Astra satellite
system serving some of the continent's top broadcasters, may be the next
satellite-based business to seek a public offering.

An offering could value SES at around $3 billion. It follows similar
considerations by Skybridge and Inmarsat spin-off ICO Communications to
become publicly-traded companies.

SES/Astra clients include British Sky Broadcasting, the British
Broadcasting Corporation and pay-TV company Flextech. A floatation would
help the company finance future satellites and support systems that will
allow for more digital and interactive programming.

Mr. A, if this damn thing doesn't get up Saturday AM, I know the right person to gripe at! :) Let's get with the program guys--blaming it on the weather is BORING. Now, we're starting to hear wimp outs like "oh, we've got 2 launches back-to-back on either side of the country and it will be oh so stressful". Let me tell you that stress is watching your monitor as LOR gets knicked each day. I* has got a ton of their birds up--are you guys man enough to handle it? If not, the SI thread is gonna have to move in. There, I feel better now.
Mr. A, what's your take on the Intelstat privatization (public spin off announced yesterday.)? Seems like that's the new trend with government owned constellations. I'm might curious to know how Mr. S is looking at the chess board these days. Now go back to work and reply Saturday AFTER thejob is done! Regards, Mike Doyle

HA! Turnabout is fair play. The Iridium launch set for Vandenburg this A.M. was postponed due to weather until Sunday. The Boeing Delta hotline still advises that G* is scheduled to launch Sat with the launch window opening at 8:22 EST.

LOR/GSTRF, will you be my Valentine?
