OK. They're fully unionized and highly paid, with stringent union contracted work rules and job classifications. Also, they're frequently either on strike or threatening to go on strike. No wonder that RR companies are reluctant to carry that load any more than necessary. Just saying and not excusing..

Just learned/heard (no proof) this am that CSX was owned by a hedge fund until recently.

So, do we blame the company proper or the hedge fund for cutting the employment?
