WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Energy Department said Thursday it had picked IBM Corp. to build a supercomputer capable of an "earth-shattering" 10 trillion calculations per second, which would make it the world's fastest supercomputer.
The new system, to be delivered in two years, will calculate in a single second what would take about 3 million years using a hand-held calculator non-stop, department officials said.

They must've used a Cray computer to figure that out...unless they asked the janitor.

If it comes with a good video card I want one.
