Tero:

Thanks for the response.

I will try to inquire within Nokia about their familiarity with iDEN. Nextel's "Direct Connect" dispatch feature is creating a lot of growth for Nextel here in the states. I would think While I have great respect for Motorola, Nokia seems to always be ahead of the innovation and design curve in anything they put their resources behind.

iDEN = Integrated Digital Enhanced Network - my be another fuzzy standard, but MOT released the specs and I'm just curious what Nokia's thoughts are.

BTW, my wife and two little boys are headed to Frankfurt 3/11-3/16. She on business - me just along for the ride - ha, ha...? I called a couple friends in Finland this morning - Stig Lindstroem, at Kansiopalvelu Oy - Helsinki; and Timo Parjanen with Auraprint Oy Aurapak, Vantaa.

Finland boring?? Come on Tero, you have to get some perspective - its all relative! During my 2-3 week stay, I ran with the Karhu Titan running team in the Suomi Juooksi - 2 segments - was invited into this exclusive log-cabin sauuna on wheels owned by the company of my second leg running partner; ran into Helsinki stadium at the start of the world games in '85 with the Karhu team; met and sang with Vesa-Matti Lori in Finnish (this guy inspired my into singing years ago when I went out with a Finnish girl here in the states) while at the race track outside of Helsinki; skinny-dipped (the only way you guys swim it seems) in countless shallow lakes that had this deep mud on the bottom which you sink in); sang songs around many a Finnish dinner table and in saunas throughout Finland; and actually ran through the woods with birch branches while unclothed as part of another sauna experience. During my first day in Finland, to pass time until my friends got off work I visited this historical island in Helsinki harbor after a long sleepless night on the Silja line. Four girls from this art school treated to a full picnic with wine, cheese, etc. - and I sang to them, etc.

Sorry for the long wind, Tero. I will be dragging my family to Finland some day when they are old enough to pal around and understand things - two sons, 4 yrs and 8 mos.

I may have mentioned this before, but my company makes a market in Nokia shares here in the states on the Chicago Stock Exchange. I have had this resting plan to try to get them to list with us - we do some 5-10% of the daily trade volume and had up to 15-20% at one time. We are the second largest listed exchange in the U.S. - doing an average 25-30 million shares. My sales pitch would include a guarantee that I would sing two Vesa Matti songs during the listing ceremony. If you know anyone at Nokia, please pass this one for I am serious. I sing in a Barbershop Quartet here in the greater Chicago area.

Years ago I helped close a $200,000 garlic deal for my dad over a dinner in L.A. to a Finnish businessman by singing one of my many Finnish songs. My father's business popularized garlic to the world beginning 11 years ago - Pure-Gare/Quintessence.

Please promise you won't get me started about Finland being boring every again....

Thanks again.
