The graphics chip that Intel announces will be strong and be marketed well. However IDTI doesn't need to be the biggest or the best but a reasonable level of performance that they can manufacture easily.

Their core competency in memories (fusion, etc.) should help them here. (A key to the highend Rambus memory performance is the fast memory I/O which IDTI should have some insight into).

IMHO, strategically speaking, if the system on a chip becomes a competitive battlefield/necessity then the IDTI (MPU & graphics & others) portfolio may come into play.
