I've seen the statistics, Doren. They're the sum of a wide variety of variables, including income rates, education levels, poverty levels, drug usage, demographics, and yes, the success or failure of criminal justice systems. What I can tell you, however, is my own observations. When I came to San Francisco in 2010, things were relatively stable here. I could walk down a random street and talk to any person about anything, especially the SF Giants. Crime wasn't really a big thing. Theft, robbery, break-ins, etc. were not that pervasive. There were homeless people around, but nowhere near as many as today. And this was in the middle of the so-called "Great Recession." Fast-forward to today. It's a complete and utter mess. Car windows are broken. Businesses are broken into all the time. Theft is rampant. Strongarm robberies are captured on video in broad daylight. Asian women like my wife are juicy targets, especially given that they carry nice bags and often have a lot of cash on them. Plus they're shorter and seen as easier targets. Stores now have to lock up basic groceries like shampoo and even diapers because of organized retail theft. Walgreens closed a bunch of stores in the SF Bay Area. Even the posh areas like Union Square in downtown and Stanford shopping center in Palo Alto are struck by smash-n-grab thugs. Meanwhile, drive down ANY street in San Francisco and Oakland. Tents are everywhere. Homeless people are rampant. Most of them are docile, but it's the 5% who are violent, crazy, and completely unreasonable. They have nothing to lose, and they don't get arrested, prosecuted, or even kicked out. Every time I complain about it, I'm told my libtards that I have to tolerate this because of rising income inequality, rising housing costs, not enough government programs (despite me paying through the nose in taxes), and of course, that systemic racism thingy. In other words, they WANT to keep this shit around just so they can push their woke-ass agenda. And I'm tired of it. Tenchusatsu
