Speaking as one of those immigrant foreigners who worked in the USA for about decade before coming back in the mid 90's I can say I met a good number of American workers who, in my view, were good for doing my job, but they were missing just one crucial qualification: A university degree. I got my degree easily as it was paid for by the State, and proved useful and of qood quality. Back in those days even the living expenses were provided by UK local government once you were accepted for a place at University.

All those days are gone now, and all the jobs too. Western governments generally really have lost the plot. I am not sure if it was deliberate or not, but I am beginning to think is was all deliberate. Especially the running down of education in the USA (all that trans crap etc), the chaos, the sponsored rioting and promoted illegal immigration. This bickering about the Republicans being racist really doesn't not help matters one bit imho. The minorities seemed to like Trump, mainly because they had it better back then.

LOL!!

And yes, many on the Republican side of the aisle are fascist totalitarian pigs who are fearful of African Americans and their great history and traditions. Why else would Ron Pig Desantis prohibit the study of African American History in the State of Florida? What is Desanti and the low life libertarian tea party afraid of? I can tell you what Desantis and his party faithful are all about: they hate learning, inquiry, questioning, criticism and are Racist Pigs who want to elevate their fascist white culture above every other race, like Adolph Hitler!! And you call that celebrating individual freedoms?

Nice hateful racist rant ya got going there... proving my prior point re Democrats using race and fostering racism... ?

But, surely you also can type, and have access to a web browser and a search engine ?

Here's what DeSantis RIGHTLY objects to including as part of Florida's curriculum, according to Politico:

Citing specific curricular units that address Black Queer theory and the sociological concept of intersectionality, which holds that a matrix of advantages and disadvantages create an invisible power structure in society, DeSantis argued, “Now, who would say that an important part of Black history is queer theory? That is somebody pushing an agenda on our kids. And so when you look to see they have stuff about intersectionality, abolishing prisons, that’s a political agenda. … We believe in education, not indoctrination.”

DeSantis is absolutely correct about that being "political indoctrination" and not education...

And, he's absolutely correct, in other context, about "the woke left" being exactly what you say as:hate learning, inquiry, questioning, criticism and are Racist Pigs who want to elevate their fascist...culture above every other... except, you left out that the left also hate free speech with a passion... as the terminally intolerant will tend to be... intolerant of others in every aspect.

There as many or more fascists in the Democrat party vs. the dwindling number in the Republican party... but, in my personal experience, there are far more racists in the Democrat party than in the Republican party... as makes sense... given who fought to abolish slavery... and who fought to keep it...

The article points out Florida law already requires teaching black history as a part of the curriculum. So, where did you get that BS you wrote about "prohibiting the study of African American History" ?

The article then goes on to extol all the parts of the "PILOT" version of the AP course that DeSantis has no problems with... which takes up most of the article in a complete waste of our time as it is irrelevant.

It finally notes with chagrin:

But Florida may already have won the battle.

Recently, the College Board signaled its intent to revise the African American Studies curriculum.

So, they're going to leave all the good stuff in... and take all the woke bullshit out of it... which highlights a couple of other things...

First, that the academy is packed with cowards who are afraid to point out obvious bullshit when they see it... because cowed by the aggression of those on the left pedaling anti-intellectual "woke" indoctrination as "education" now. The left wing has taken control of the American educational establishment... have eliminated any diversity of thought... and converted "education" into the intellectual equivalent of the crime scene that is those "woke" cities... Chicago, Portland, etc., that have been stupid enough to adopt that garbage.

Second, the article notes, about the AP agreeing on making any changes :

It would also cause many educators and parents rightfully to question just who designs the AP curriculum: education professionals, or politicians?

They seem to fail to understand... that DeSantis has already accomplished exactly that... and, given the nature of the product is apparent as proof... they've LOST this battle. Awareness has MANY people, not just educators and parents... rightfully questioning "just who designs school curricula"... and not much liking the answers they're getting ? As, the answer, today... is "a pack of violent, racist, crazy left wing extremist nut jobs"... And, that's why Florida has elected Ron DeSantis... to restore reason and intellectual balance to the academy... because... as the article swings and misses, once more...

Importantly, the course is elective. Students and their parents choose whether to apply for enrollment. No one has to be in the room.

LOL!!! Yeah... suddenly the left want this to be about "school choice" ? It's certainly true that no one has to take that course... and, you know what... its also just as true that no one other than the students and their parents has to PAY FOR IT But, if the tax payers are paying for it... they have every right to ensure that the course that is provided to Florida students... meets Florida's educational standards...
