That's not all actually true usable liquidity. I'm not at my computer so numbers might be off since I'm going from memory but about 110 billion of the "new" money is discount window short term emergency cash for struggling banks, and 56 billion is the BTFP emergency cash.
The Fed balance sheet did go up but not as much as a lot of the people are claiming. I backed those two items out on my chart that I posted last night. You can see the difference between the old line and the new green one.
There's also some cash created that went to foreign central banks that shouldn't count. I think it was about 60 billion rumored to have gone to Sweden. I didn't back that out because I wasn't sure of the rules, duration and how much leakage it had for working it's way back into the system.
TGA has also been getting run down a lot but tax day is coming so that's going to reverse big and hard in a few weeks.
