Ah another incident of that old post being recalled from the TARP era. Dad said "The whole world is crooked" and "You gotta eat". Sometimes he would make a joke saying "I can hide my own easter eggs" - cyber security incidents have made caution finding those a little more important, more so with regards to the imposed requirement for 'instant diagnostic field reports'. With regards to Christmas shopping and what to get him he had a saying to the effect of "Look for something that jumps out and says 'Buy me'."

I do not have many incidents from mom's side of the family that jumped out and resonated with me. Mom enforced a punishment where I had to write many times "I will not be deceitful to my mother", I asked "What does deceitful mean?" and received a terse "Look in the dictionary." I remember mom studying her old chemistry books from the local institute of technology when she decided to go back to work, she got a job as a lab assistant at a local high school but I was still in elementary. One day while riding my bicycle on the driveway during a bright sunny day mom walked up to me slowly and said "The king died." I replied "Who's that?" She replied "Elvis". That conversation was person to person.

Mom's brother-in-law uncle Si told me "Stay out of national politics". He was a pilot of a Lancaster bomber before becoming a surgeon, then mayor of his city, and then learned as much as he could about computers. When I was still young said to me "Never stop learning". During a visit to uncle Si's house I remember the grown ups talking. There was a story about aunt Lucille bugging aunt Shirley when they were young by singing "The sun will come out tomorrow" (I remembered that moment while watching The Day After Tommorrow on television).

More recently uncle's Si's son said to me "Don't be pinned down." One of uncle Si's daughter's recently said to me "We're cleaning up healthcare" and "There are not enough nurses".

My brother once said "Don't tell me what to do." Talking with him on the phone in recent years has sometimes become troublesome. I suspect outside influences.

... this round we already have a pre-recession big-arrow war here on Terra that should act as cushion to demand destruction

You were correct re inter-Galactic and spot-on on trans-same-Galactic, as now many MSM around the planet puts war-motive on science / technology / civilisation-construction
I have been trying to avoid military as I believe that is an application, I learned how to talk before I knew what a military was. Dad said "Get a good sleep before a test". In a context, for me that is represented by the imposed requirement of 'data sheets' and 'instant diagnostic field reports'. Dad said "You gotta eat" and uncle Si said "Stay out of national politics".
“When describing space threats, it is important to account for two kinds: first, threats from space assets and second, threats to space assets,” Saltzman said.
With regard to the article included this item rhymed for me as I did not like hearing "She is doing the wrong thing". I am not qualified to address that and all I could do about it was go to the girl and on the phone tell her "I want you to talk to Kelly."

I do recognize more points of interest in the article. I feel those are for other people to consider as part of dad saying to me "Look after the kids and the dollars will look after themselves" and "You gotta eat".
