Sounds like a mess, and the long term chart is even messier going back to the 2008 lows and then even farther back to the 1990s.

Saw this article on the blockchain thread earlier. Interesting to me in that it's purportedly mostly being used as transactional and not as much speculation which is how the west and richer parts of Asia have mostly engaged with crypto.
