No BC, I actually saw the news. From a news source that doesn't twist words:

Zelensky: No Ukrainian counter-offensive until we get more weapons (yahoo.com)

This tells me that Ukraine chose to hold the line at Bakhmut instead of withdrawing as originally planned. They decided that:

(a) They needed more time, probably because NATO aid is slow in coming.

(b) They're still achieving positive kill ratios of RuZZians to Ukrainians.

Unfortunately they had to spend a lot of the ammunition that they've been saving up for the long-awaited (and once again telegraphed) counterattack.

Either way, ask yourself why Ukraine still hangs onto Bakhmut (and more recently, Avdiivka and Vuhledar) if they're supposedly oUt oF aMmO.
