On the topic of rescues, a quick (3 week) update on Jack. He is the one in the front of the picture. Not the best picture. My wife has all the good ones :-( As you can see, Jack has not only won us over but also Bella, our older rescue.

Jack has come a loooong way in 3 weeks. He is still on a leash during street walks but off lead everywhere else. Basic commands (Stop, stay, sit, heel) are 80% there. His recall is near perfect which came in very handy the other day when we met a rather inquisitive fox on the golf course. His initial reluctance to get in the car is gone. I guess he figured out that car and woodsy walks usually go together. Jack and Bella’s favourite entertainment is fetching sticks which then always ends up in an endless stick tug of war. Only downside so far: Right at the beginning he took a couple of little junks out of one of our Persian rugs which made him briefly rather unpopular and turned him into a rather expensive rescue.
