Note that you never get something for nothing. LEDs are far more efficient at providing visible wavelengths, but our bodies, due to thousands of years of evolution and exposure to sunlight, are expecting a full spectrum including infra-red. Without infra-red, your body's energy production mechanisms (the mitochondria) are hampered.

It's especially detrimental to expose your eyes first thing in the morning to the blue end of the spectrum without infra-red because your body interprets that to be high noon and it will never get the furnace going because it thinks it's time to slowly shut it down for the day. This is relatively recent knowledge but as time goes on, the importance is realized more and more.
