Wharfie, We should have gotten out (right after OBL was killed); surrendering the country to the Taliban wasn't the right way to do it. Getting the F out of A*ghanistan necessarily meant handing the country over to the Taliban, especially given that they became more popular than the sitting government that we helped to create. You could argue that the way Brandon did it was unavoidable after so much nation-building. But he specifically painted a much rosier picture than what reality entailed. Even Democracy Dies In Darkness pointed this out and blames many officials who had a vested interest in hiding the truth. (Reminds me of RuZZia.) That's why Brandon owns this mess. That's why his lack of leadership and his "leading from his behind" foreign policy led to the embarrassment. Tenchusatsu
