I happen to know quite a few Russians and have to say they are a curious bunch. For example, while slurping their borsht they'll speak amorously of their motherland while simultaneously shiting on America. I asked them all while lunching at table with them --> which of them had plans to - apart from a visit/vacation - return Russia to live in Russia?

CRICKETS

I asked them why it was that one of Russia's primary exports is WIVES - and why is that there seems to be no market for American women who wish to be exported to Russia to marry a Russian???

Not a trick question because I can think of at least 4 guys I know off the top of my head who married mail-order brides from Russia. One of them, a guy in our church about my age, divorced his wife and married a drop-dead gorgeous bride from Russia the same age as his daughter (and mine). Talk about a trophy wife. One could hardly keep themselves from being at least a little jealous. She went to college, got her citizenship, got a good job and then divorced him. He smiled when another friend of mine asked him if it was worth it.

Bottom line is none of the Russians I know have any desire to go back to Russia for anything more than a visit.

An exception would be one of my personal physicians who married a gal he was corresponding with in Russia. He brought her to the US, married her, and then a few years later lost his medical license, liquidated, and moved with her back to Russia. (I suspect he was dodging creditors and the IRS)

The guy who refinished my hardwood floors, excellent craftsman from Russia, says its a totally corrupt country.

I don't belong to any political party and I try to be ethnically neutral as well. Call me a simpleton, but I pretty much size up things the way that I see them - granted I dont have the best seats in the bleachers.
