Burford : there is no assurance but lots of speculation though about how much more enforceable a judgement on a commercial litigation as opposed to a sovereign default is and how how Argentina has historically negotiated settlements of these types of judgements. I like the Business model of Burford. They also have a funds that they manage for institutional investors. and theoretically there should be little correlation to the stock market performance though covid impacted their business greatly. My biggest concern with this investment is whether the split of profits amongst management employees and shareholders will be equitable. as the dividend is paltry. I invested feeling that Burford's ability to collect from Argentina was 50/50. I think the odds are much better now. BTW there is an interesting lawsuit going on because Burford advanced funds litigating a lawsuit by SYSCO involving price fixing by some of its suppliers. Sysco wanted to change the terms of the the agreement and so Burford put in clauses limiting Sysco's ability to settle without Burford approval. Now Sysco want to renege on the deal saying that Burford was in cahoots with Sysco's outside legal firm. you can google more detail from reuters..
