"I'm starting to think that the Dems are playing political chess here."

I think you're over-thinking it. NY happened first, it was the first investigation to be opened, and it was first to get past all the legal efforts to stall the case.

"By making Bragg pursue an indictment over charges "
Who made him do that, aside from he himself, when he apparently told the voters that he would do that?

"Then they can push the Georgia indictment, which I believe would carry more political weight than hush money to a pron star"

Carries more legal weight, too. In terms of consequential to the nation, right now I have J6, followed by Georgia, (which should be included in J6), Mar a Lago, and then NY. If Trump was handing out classified documents as party favor, that moves to #2.

"when 2024 becomes Trump vs. Brandon again, people will choose the relative stability of a geriatric puppet over the uncertainty of a ticking orange time bomb. The trick here is to get the geriatric puppet over the finish line without him either stumbling too much, or cutting the strings."

The geriatric puppet is also the ticking time bomb.
