Lula ruffling feathers in the US:

If we know Lula's caliber, the US State Department does too. In the long term Lula is not important in the context of US-Brazil relations

Brazil has to be bi and play on both sides. East and West.

The US has confidence in the country as a partner and has common interests in the defense and aeronautics industries.

Neither of the 2 partners will throw the partnership out the window because the common interests are too great. They will be pragmatic.

But the US has politicians too and may be watching Lula kicking sand in Biden's eyes
That's where the pressure comes from.

It is up to Brazilian Freign Minister Mauro Viera to walk behind Lula putting out the fire:

Going there and saying:

"He had some cachacas. (That Chinese cachaca is very dangerous! :-) Add that he had jet lag and went overboard.
That he just wanted to sign some contracts there with Xi, cool, nice and easy... Say it there in Congress and the Pentagon, that everything is under control."

That is until he goes to Spain next week and fucks up again.

Brazil is a major supplier of commodities.

2) Support, in case of conflicts it is necessary to have allies.

It's not worth jumping to one side. It's still too early...

South Africa and Brazil share commonalities because both are big suppliers of commodities and are geo-strategic important in the Southern Atlantic in terms of extension
