Dear Jane: The Titans of Greek mythology were based upon true accounts of giants roaming over the earth. The scripture says there were giants before and after the flood. GEN 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days and also after that ( the flood ), when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men, which were of old men of renown. There are very evil persons on earth today that have children of righteous women or vice versa but the union of the two produces no giants. What I feel the scripture refers to is that the "sons of God" refers to fallen angels. Therefore the fallen angels that are now confined to hell are those that committed the additional sin of having sons with the daughters of men. From this statement if taken as fact , you might assume that angels are male or at least be able to take on the form of a male, else why would the angels visiting Lot be desired by the men of Sodom? The very purpose of Noah's flood therefore was to eradicate the offspring of the fallen angels. Satan came within 8 souls of taking over the earth completely thus escaping by inhabiting the earth with all wickedness. After the flood satan had the additional promise of never another flood so naturally he would attempt the same thing with union with women and resulting giants. The armies of God however eradicated every last giant in biblical days, this was why God told them to kill all of them; which they did. To the last man woman and child. God takes a lot of "flack" over that necessity to this day, being depicted as a vengeful, wrathful God, But it was necessary for future generations to cleanse the earth of this satanic influence. So Christ came and fulfilled His purpose through the redemptive power of His blood. Nothing can change that. It Is Finished-- Christ said on the cross. Do you think we fight satan for the purpose of his reversing what Christ did at the cross; nay.nay. That cannot be done. It has already been done. World. Anybody. Everybody. Don't you see our foe has already been defeated. What we have now is a marshalling of spiritual forces, posturing if you will. For satan, it is do or die. He is trying to recruit all that he can for the final battle at the second coming of Christ. He is desperate, desperation leads to a lot of mistakes. We are not fighting an invincible foe, we are fighting a Saddam . limited days. I call all to arms, prepare for the final battle...In Christ.gregor
