My Grandmother had a full mass after she passed, the priest was pissed, he gave me dirty looks for not going to look at her in the open coffin. I prefer to remember the ones I loved who pass as they were in life. My first wife told me her grandfather tried to molest her, He was a religious fanatic, It took her pleading with me not to kick the shit out of him. She never told her father as she was afraid her Dad would kill him. When we got married it was in a Lutheran Church, her grandparents never showed up.
