Last month I stopped to see an old priest I've known since I was a kid, he is serving in a northern community. An Indian lady was leaving the confessional and he came out right after and greeted me. We sat and talked while the Indian lady lit a candle and said some prayers and left, the priest excused himself and blew out the candle. He sat down again and said, "It will take more than a 25 cent candle to erase that whore's sins..."
