Apparently they are targets now. CNBC, I don't know the guy said that stocks with high short interest are being selected as a way to make money. He was speaking from the trading floor. He said it was a lonely place for shorters.

Many of these shorts who started shorting at $45 post split, can sell any time and make a very handsome profit. They are not as bad off as you make them out to be. I am a long since that time and am still suffering a loss. I hope to see these guys take their profits soon and go somewhere else. I wish I was as bad off as these shorts you describe. I would be happy to just get my dough back.
