I think Kimberley's statement was correct...and the IRS would agree with her. The "wash rule" only comes into play if you are selling a stock at a loss.

Vin, I'm not sure I'm following you. The wash rule applies to losses... if you sell a stock for a loss and rebuy it back before 30 days, you arn't allowed to take the loss. It doesn't apply to gains.
