Though still well below levels seen in 2017, the city saw a 23% increase in property crimes between 2020 and 2022, with spikes in burglary and larceny theft headlining the surge, according to San Francisco PD data.

Crimes like these aren't reported anymore because the public knows nothing will be done.

Wharfie, stores are closing in SF. The ones that remain open are putting all of their items behind panels in order to discourage theft.
