Rick, On the TSE the brokers are a bit looser, and can set their rule at $1 or above is marginable?? I am not absolutely sure of that as I have never asked since it was on the VSE. There I had margin at $2 or over.

Rick some info on Margins

Most houses want a 150% So lets say you have 10,000 shares of Barrick at $30.00 worth $300,000 that's the 100%... Now they will let you margin 50% of this so $150,000. So say you buy $150,000 worth of shares in "XYZ" and it does not matter whether XYZ is $0.05 or $1.10 a share.
Now as long as the Stock you have on margin stays at or above your okay. But if the value of the shares in Barrick that we used in this example drop to a value of $250,000 from $300,000 then you would have to cover the difference so $50,000.
There are some houses that go as high as 75%.

Hope this helps

Mike
